Reading Counts |
|
Reading Counts is a reading motivation and management program devised by Scholastic. It is tied to the Scholastic Reading Inventory, which is used as an assessment and reading group placement tool. Students take the SRI to determine their lexile number. Books are given lexile numbers based upon text difficulty. The lexile numbers help guide students in selecting books that will challenge them while giving them a feeling of success. Individual classroom teachers determine requirements for Reading Counts in their classrooms. Quizzes may be taken only on computers within our building.
