Our History We are located on the historic Fort Riley U.S. Army Post in north central Kansas. Our school opened in August of 1983 and was named in honor of Major General Keith L. Ware. We are one of five elementary schools on Ft. Riley and one of thirteen elementary schools in the Geary County School District. Neighboring communities include Manhattan, KS and Junction City, KS. |

School Profile Ware Elementary educates approximately 650 students per year in kindergarten through fifth grade. Students reside in the McClellan, Meade, Burnside Loops, and Warner Heights areas on Ft. Riley. Due to the Army transition, we see an annual turnover of about 60% of our total student population. Ware Elementary is staffed with approximately 100-115 certified staff members per year. We are also the home of an English Learners Program (ELL). An inclusive special education program is also part of the Ware educational setting.
