There are two music teachers at Ware Elementary, Ms. Tara West and Mrs. Susan Gillespie
Starting as early as kindergarten, children begin understanding and using the written symbols of music. They are exposed to music of various cultures of our nation and the world. They learn about music that is composed and music that was just “made up” for fun, and the roles that these different styles of music play in everyday living.
The voice, like any other part of the body, must be cared for, exercised regularly, and never abused or misused if it is to last a lifetime, and the children will learn how to do this properly in our classes.
Music teaches about teamwork and cooperation, creating feelings of satisfaction for all. Our district is aligned with the State and National Music Standards. We incorporate these standards to make sure the children have a complete music education.
