Welcome to the English Language Learners (ELL) program!  Ware Elementary currently has 72 students who have the influence of a second language and who have qualified for our program.  Languages represented by students at Ware include, but are not limited to the following:  Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, Chamorro, Samoan, and a small variety of Native American dialects.

It is our goal to aid ELL students in becoming successful and independent learners.  We serve our students by providing native language support (both oral and written), making modifications to the regular curriculum, tutoring, providing class-within-a-class support, small group instruction, offering culturally diverse, native language and bilingual literature, and a variety of other ways.

Ware Elementary values the diversity of its population as these special students provide flavor and enrichment to our school.  ELLs bring with them a variety of cultures and traditions that may be different from those of other families.  All Ware students gain from experiencing the cultural awareness and enrichment that these students contribute to our school.

Ware currently has one ELL teacher and five bilingual aides who work with our English Language Learners.  They are Lori Roether, Luz Acevedo, Mayte Fuentes, Sonia Perez, Lyriannette Santana, and Aida Vazquez.
